In response to media inquiry on that Financial Times recently reported that Japanese government officials have told Japanese companies in Taiwan that if a conflict in the Taiwan-Straits requires the evacuation of employees, they will be "on their own," and it is reported that several major Japanese companies have conducted annual simulated evacuations of their employees in Taiwan since 2022.
Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said on Wednesday that the root cause of the current tensions in the Taiwan Straits is the Lai Ching-te's stubborn adherence to its separatist stance of "Taiwan independence," its persistent pursuit of independence through force and reliance on foreign powers, and its continued push toward the dangers of war.
Relevant countries should recognize Lai's nature as a "peace spoiler" and "troublemaker," clearly oppose "Taiwan independence," and support China's just cause of reunification. Only in this way can we truly maintain regional peace and stability and safeguard the safety and interests of our people, Chen added.
